Tamales In Town…and they’re HOT !
Don’t miss Festival Favourites, Hot Tamales, when they take to the stage in Douglas’ Bar on Friday night from 9.00pm.
For those of you who are still Tamales Virgins, they are an acoustic duo who mix diverse blues, country and americana influences, and have earned a reputation throughout northwest Ireland for memorable live performances.
Featuring fine guitar picking and harmony vocals from John McFall (vocals, guitar, harmonica), and Allan Nicholl (vocals, guitars, stomp box, mandolin).
Expect unusual renditions of familiar material from the likes of Hank Williams, Dylan, John Prine and Brownie McGhee, mixed with less well known old-time, pre-war and Hokum blues, and Leon Redbone style selections from the Great American Songbook, all delivered with healthy dollop of self depreciating humour and irreverence.
