On this day in 1995, the legendary Rory Gallagher passed away, aged just 47.
This soft spoken Irishman, characterised by his flowing locks and trademark working man stage clothes, was far from ordinary.
Gallagher was a self taught virtuoso who forged a musical revolution in his native land, shunned the traps of fame and stardom yet became a universally acclaimed international folk hero.
Tonight at the Danny Boy Jazz and Blues Festival, you can re-live the unmistakable Rory Gallagher sound when “Sam Davidson’s Taste” take to the stage at 11pm in The Corner Bar. For all the Rory fans out there, this is an unmissable festival gig !
