Café Jazz in the Sunshine?
Café Jazz Project is a locally based duo, featuring Roy Mitchell on clarinet, with Greg Payne on guitar. Their music is mostly influenced by the gypsy swing of Django Reinhardt, in particular, and has a strong French flavour. Playing exclusively music from the first half of the twentieth century, they have a traditional jazz feel to their sound; typically, reminiscent … as is often pointed out … of a Woody Allen movie sound track. Their act recently received a very favourable review in The Irish News where their playing was described as “ … elegant, easy, graceful, fluid [and] serene …”
Enjoy these exquisite melodies as you visit the town centre on Saturday. Café Jazz Project will be “busking” to make the shopping chores a MUCH more pleasant undertaking.
