Long Tower Folk Group

The Longtower Folk Group was established in 1980 by Richard and Rita Moore when they were just 18 years old.  Since then, the Folk Group has gone from strength to strength with many members being part of the group for 20 or more years.   Today, the group is made up of around 25 singers and musicians who sing at mass every Saturday night.

Over the 35 years, the folk group have recorded 2 albums, toured America twice and performed at a number of high profile events including performances for His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Derry, Bishop Desmond Tu Tu and Pope Francis in Rome.

 Some notable musicians that the Folk Group have had the privilege of performing with have been the late Christy Hennesy and Charlie Landsborough.
