His modern approach to Jazz has has left an indelible mark as he has successfully blended different styles of music together in a cross genre attempt to engage the non-jazz listener. Be it deep funk or up-tempo bebop, his quartet leave audiences enthralled and wanting more. At this years festival he is bringing only the finest Jazz Musicians on the island having worked extensively with them over the recent years. Rick Swann, a prolific and gifted Trumpeter. Rick has been featured on numerous high profile bills including London’s ‘Royal Albert Hall’ to Belfast’s ‘Odyssey Arena’. Swann currently works on a range of high profile residencies in Belfast including ‘The Albany’ and ‘Bar With No Name’ primarily focused on facilitating and growing the Northern Irish Jazz scene. In addition to this he works in club settings as a key founder of the ‘Bebopwithbeats’ movement exclusively in Belfast clubs ‘El Divino’, ‘The Filthy Quarter’ and ‘Chinawhite’.
